Bughendera Information Centre is an independent platform providing reliable information, statistics, and community insights about Bughendera County, located in Bundibugyo District within Uganda’s Rwenzori Sub-region.

Location & Geography

Bughendera County is found in Bundibugyo District, Western Uganda. The area is predominantly mountainous, with fertile volcanic soils and a favorable climate for perennial and high-value crops According to the National Population and Housing Census 2024, Bughendera County has a population of approximately 100,000 people, distributed across 14 sub-counties and town councils. Females slightly outnumber males Children and youth form the largest share of the population Most households are rural and agriculture-based
